I enjoyed this piece from Rob Horning, where by a chance encounter a north american discovers Gogglebox while visiting Europe and appreciates it without irony.

I've enjoyed following Rachel Coldicutt's opinions on critical social technologies, especially coming from the perspective of a woman who's worked in the public sector, which is a relief when your inbox is swamped in lefty tech bro discourse.

Definitely want to come back to talk about this Guardian article, partly because this is an interesting take and partly because I haven't taken any time to be a little bit smug about my guesses a year ago that the much-vaunted looming misinformation apocalypse wasn't coming from a well-reasoned critical argument :) good quote:

"…it’s not enough to brand something “misinformation”: more important is the ability to find and address the flawed assumptions hiding among voluminous facts. We must give people the conceptual tools they need in order to spot skewed framing, sleight of hand, cherry-picked data, or muddled claims of cause and effect."
